JoyBell

When it comes to products I always feel doctors know best. I had the chance to talk to one about some products I was interested in sharing with you all.  Doctor John Ester shared with me the reasons for the creation of the Joybell Baby Feeding Teethers and the Mirror. I will share some of this with you all and tell you my personal experiences with these products.

First, let’s go over why he created the Feeding teether. He mentioned to me that he believes the 6-18 month age range could really benefit from the quick and easy and safe way to give healthy snacks as well introducing solid foods. Most of the feeders or teethers out there have the mesh feeders and become hard to clean and develop mold on them as well over time. Most parents throw them out for that reason. The other down fall to these was the ones made of silicone much like a nipple from bottles. Now this work great; however, the part that comes in as the down fall is when they are cheaply made with the hinges and clasps. The clasps were easy to break when opening or shutting them so these don’t typically last long either; another issue was the handles were hollow and were not sealed air-tight so they would fill up with dirty dishwater that typically leaks out. With the Joybell they have created a feeder without hinges and clasps and they are SOOOO easy to clean and sterilize. He also designed the handle into a face as like a toy or doll as his research showed that babies in this age range engage with that shape much more than pacifier-like shape. So this allows the child to see the feeder as a toy and not a tool. Even though this seems to have more small parts it allows you the opportunity to use a product that is more cleanable and sturdy. My daughter tried this out with a frozen strawberry lately as she has 4 teeth coming up at the moment and she loved it. I loved the fact it was so easy to clean as it unscrews from each other as I will show you in the pictures below:

Second, is the mirror he designed which I find AMAZING and feel more safe with it than any other mirror I have had. Doctor Ester said that he does generally agree with the car seat safety group about people thinking that it is unrealistic to ask any mother to keep her baby in the back seat, rear facing without being able to monitor them. However, he stated it is also unrealistic to expect a busy mother, alone in the car with her baby, to pull over, get out and check baby every time he/she makes a concerning sound. He asked some of his parents who did not utilize a mirror if they ever used their cell phone to try and “check on the baby” and at least 80% said yes they did! This became a concern to him and it convinced him that it was a good idea for mirrors. So he made it a goal to figure out what caused the mirrors to fall off and cause injuries to babies. He then found out through his research that the straps were coming weak. So he designed one with a clamp style locking mechanism. I LOVE this idea because it allows me to see my daughter very well with the big mirror size it comes in and knowing that it is tightly secure to the seat is wonderful!  These pictures below will show you the way it goes onto the back of the headrest and how well I can see my daughter by turning and looking at the mirror and also a view of me utilizing my rear view mirror too!

I definitely recommend these two products as I use them myself! If you are interested in looking at these items and purchasing for yourself, you can check them out on Facebook at JoyBell. They can also be found at Tuscobia Products. Also, Doctor Ester has been so gracious enough to share with me a giveaway! So I will be hosting a giveaway for the mirror and the feeders!  The giveaway is being held on my Facebook page at Sweet Baby Memories.
